The platforms out on the sea were built during World War II landings of Normandy. It was the largest seaborne invasion in history and the signs of it are still visible all across the northern coast in Normandy which makes walking on these beaches quite overwhelming. In Arromanches there is also a part of Memorial de Caen, a 360 degrees circular cinema .
