Patan exhibitions vol 3
Our communal artwork we did together with the other Kathmandu Micro Galleries residency artists turned out to be a snake going around the area. Locals joined in on making it and after used the recycled materials for their own needs. In Nepal a snake is a symbol for water, rain and fertility and almost every dwell in Kathmandu has a snake going around it. Snakes are also considered to be the caretakers of everything below ground. We built a giant snake from different materials going around the street, bringing aspects of climate change, preserving the earth and water into the artwork.
